TOURING2004 - Ireland Tour of Galway, Adare, Killarney, and Dublin. No concerts this time…we just enjoy traveling together and wanted to see this beautiful country!

2000 - Sounds of Healing Sounds of Healing Tour. Performed music of American composers and Jewish composers at the Prague Jewish Musical Festival and were joined in Nuremburg with choirs from Canada and Israel and a high school choir from California to sing two sold-out performances of Leonard Bernstein's Kaddish with the Nuremburg Symphony. The performances were recorded by Radio Bavaria and were broadcast throught Europe the following month. 2000 - China Fourteen members of CSSC joined Lyndon Woodside and the Oratorio Society of New York for a tour of China, with two performances of the Verdi Requirem at the Forbidden City Music Hall with the Beijing Opera Chorus and the Beijing Symphony. |

1999 - Amsterdam , Oxford and Nottingham This tour included a Mass by Hillsley, who attended the concert, which was in a synagogue that was turned into a warehouse under the Nazi occupation and had only been recently rededicated as a synagogue. A reception was held in the House of Commons through the auspices of the Los Angeles Holocaust Museum. The London concert was held at the Embassy Theatre and a program of Jewish music at Magdalen College in Oxford was performed in conjunction with their Jewish Studies program. 1998 - Janacek Festival 1997 - Baltic States Tour The Choral Society toured the Baltic States, including Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Copenhagen, Denmark. We performed concerts in Vilnius (our “Gig in the Dig,” an archeological site, for the Vilnius International Music Festival), the beautiful neo-Byzantine Archangel Michal Church in Kaunas, St. Savior's Anglikanu Basnica church in Riga, Blackhead Guild Hall in Tallinn, and Fredericksborg Castle and Holmens Kirke in Copenhagen. Performances included music from Lithuania, Sweden, Russia.

top of page1995 - Czech Republic We toured Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Performed music of American composers at the Aspach (Austria) Festival, as well as in the Czech Republic at Cesky Krumlov, the Schwarzenberg Castle near Pisek, and Prague under the auspices of the Prague Symphony's summer concert series. Evening Vespers were also sung at the Brevnov Monastery outside of Prague. We also visited Saltzburg.

1991 - France CSSC represented Los Angeles in a sister-city exchange in Bordeaux, where we joined the Ensemble Vocal d'Acquaitaine to sing two sold-out performances of the Mozart Mass in C Minor. The CSSC then performed concerts of American music in ther areas of Southwestern France, including Saint Emilion and Arcachon. We were graciously received in all performing cities with receptions by their respective city mayors.

1987 - GermanyWe toured with six American university choirs, including Baylor University, Dr. Strimple's undergraduate university alma mater, to sing Beethoven's 9th Symphony, “Ode to Joy,” with Nuremberg Symphony (Nürnberg Symphoniker) at their traditional New Year's Concert. We also toured Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

1982 - Germany, Austria and Greece This was a joint tour with the Oratorio Society of New York to perform Carl Orff's Carmina Burana at the Residenz with the Munich Symphony and their choir; Mozart Coronation Mass and Vespers, and the Hayden Creation at the Universitätskirche in Salzburg. CSSC and OSNY also performed the Haydn Creation at the Athens Festival with five international choirs and the Athens State Orchestra in the Herodotus Atticus Theatre below the Acropolis. |
